TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN

Reference Number(s): SI B32 07 18, Date of Issue:  June 01, 2018
BMW: All Models
GROUP: Steering and Wheel Alignment

SITUATION

BMW Quality Monitoring shows that in many instances, fasteners and hardware (eccentric bolts, nuts, washers) that need to be replaced to perform a wheel alignment (camber/toe adjustment) have not been replaced as specified by the repair instructions.

In such cases the quality of the repair is compromised, and possibly, a vehicle comeback repair may follow.

CORRECTION

When performing a wheel alignment, always refer to the applicable Repair Instructions in ISTA, AIR, or in the KDS Alignment Software for a list of applicable fasteners (hardware) which need to be replaced.

Part numbers for fasteners and hardware that is required to be replaced during a wheel alignment must to be invoiced in the repair order and listed on the warranty claim.

WARRANTY INFORMATION

Warranty claims for wheel alignments which are missing the fasteners and/or other items that require replacement will be debited.
