SITUATION
Glass roof will not close.
At least one of the following fault codes is stored:
- 30215: Slide/tilt sunroof: invalid characteristic curve, no standardization exists
- 30295: Electric sliding headliner: invalid characteristic curve, no standardization exists
- 302A0: Electric sliding headliner: System not standardized
- 30220: Slide/tilt sunroof: System not standardized
CAUSE
Roof function center software.
CORRECTION
Reprogram and encode the vehicle with ISTA/NEXT 4.04.1x or ISTA/P 3.61.0 (availability from 2/24/2017) or a more recent version.
PROCEDURE
For conditions that are similar to the situation described:
- Perform diagnosis with the latest version of ISTA.
- Program the vehicle using ISTA/P 3.61.0 or ISTA/NEXT 4.04 or higher.

Note that ISTA/P will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software.
Always connect a BMW approved battery charger/power supply ( SI B04 23 10 ).

Vehicle Programming and Coding
When ISTA/P automatically reprograms and codes all the vehicle's control modules that "currently do not have" the latest software and if one or more control module failures occur "during" this programming procedure:
- Please claim this "consequential" control module-related repair work under the defect code listed in this bulletin with the applicable KSD2/AIR labor operations.
