ARRANGEMENT OF SHAPED PARTS FOR CAVITY BULKHEAD (530i 2017-2022, 530i xDrive 2017-2022, 530e PHEV 2018-2022, 530e xDrive PHEV 2018-2022, 540i 2017-2022, 540i xDrive 2017-2022, M550i xDrive 2018-2022)
To reduce interior noise and to seal the interior from humidity, cavities in certain sections of the body are sealed off. To do this, shaped parts are inserted in the cavities. The shaped parts expand to fit the contact faces perfectly by heating the body to approx. 180° C and holding the temperature for approx. 20 minutes.
Since it is not possible during body repairs to heat the body up and maintain it at this temperature long enough, the following procedure has been defined for this eventuality.
