Remove coil spring

Preliminary work 

• Refer to REMOVING THE COVER IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT ON THE REAR LEFT OR RIGHT .
• Refer to REMOVING FRONT LEFT OR RIGHT WHEEL .
• Refer to DETACHING THE UPPER WISHBONE FROM THE SWIVEL BEARING .
• Refer to SECURING THE SWIVEL BEARING .
• Refer to DETACHING THE ANTI-ROLL BAR LINK FROM THE SPRING STRUT .
• Refer to DETACHING THE SPRING STRUT IN FRONT .
• Refer to DETACHING THE SPRING STRUT FROM THE WISHBONE ON THE BOTTOM .
• Refer to REMOVING FRONT SPRING STRUT .
• Refer to PREPARING THE SPRING TENSIONER .
• Refer to TENSIONING THE COIL SPRING .

• Release nut with special tool 0 496 514 (33 0 040)  .
• Remove the spring strut support bearing (1)  with the spring pad.

• Remove the spring strut, auxiliary damper, protective tube and the spring pad from the tensioned coil spring.
• Relieve tension on special tool 0 493 556 (31 3 341)  .
• Remove the coil spring (1) from the special tool 2 318 833.
