Install rear axle differential

Fold open the assembly protection ring (1).

Raise the rear axle differential (3) with the special tool 0 496 009 (33 5 200) .
Insert the left-hand output shaft (2) into the rear axle differential (3).
Twist the rear axle differential (3) towards the right and insert the right-hand output shaft (1) into the rear axle differential (3).

Insert output shaft into rear axle differential.
Pull on the lug (1) of the installation protection ring until one of the two predetermined breaking points breaks.
Pull out the assembly protection ring.

Position the rear axle differential (1) using special tools 0 496 009 (33 5 200) and 0 490 133 (00 2 030) on the rear axle support.
Make sure that the luggage strap (2) is not pinched between the rear axle differential and the dust plate.

Replace screws (1).
Parts: screw

Screw in the screws (1) hand force.

TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION

Rear differential to rear axle carrier, front
M12 Replace screw.	Joining torque	100 Nm
	Angle of rotation	90°

Tighten nut (1).

TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION

Rear differential to rear axle carrier, rear
M14 Replace screw and nut.	Joining torque	165 Nm
	Angle of rotation	90°

Tighten down screw (1).

TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION

Rear axle differential to rear right rear axle support
M10 Replace screw.	Joining torque	56 Nm
	Angle of rotation	90°

Loosen and remove the luggage strap (2) from the rear axle differential (1).
Lower and remove the special tools 0 490 133 (00 2 030) and 0 496 009 (33 5 200) .
