Removing the centering for the prop shaft
Preliminary work
- Remove the UNDERBODY PLANKING of the transmission on the side
- Remove rear UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
- Remove the CONNECTING SUPPORT from the tunnel.
- If installed: remove the right and left TORSION STRUT where required.
- Remove complete EXHAUST SYSTEM .
- Remove the HEAT SHIELDS .
- Remove transmission CROSS-MEMBER .
- Remove the RETAINING PLATES
- Completely remove the PROP SHAFT (plug-in - rear flexible disc).
- Use special tool 2 450 247
to remove the centering bearing.
- Insert pin (1) and pin (2) of the special tool 2 450 247 in the centering bearing of the prop shaft.
- Turn pin (1) by 90° in relation to pin (2).
- Insert the pin (2) between pins (1) and (3) of the special tool 2 450 247
in the centering bearing of the prop shaft.
- Lock the special tool 2 450 247
by turning the sleeve (1).
The pins (2) are retained by the sleeve (1).
- Install the guide sleeve (1).
- Screw the special tool 0 490 497 (00 8 550)
(3) with the special tool 2 450 247
(2) and support at the guide sleeve (1).
- Turn the nut (1) in arrow direction and pull out the centering bearing.
