Removing the grooved ball bearing in the propeller shaft center bearing
Preliminary work
- Remove rear UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
- Remove the UNDERBODY PLANKING of the transmission on the side
- Remove the CONNECTING SUPPORT from the tunnel.
- If installed: remove the right and left TORSION STRUT where required.
- Remove complete EXHAUST SYSTEM .
- Remove the HEAT SHIELDS .
- Remove transmission CROSS-MEMBER .
- Remove the RETAINING PLATES
- Completely remove the PROP SHAFT (plug-in - rear flexible disc).
- Remove the CENTRAL MOUNT of the prop shaft.
- Press the grooved ball bearing (2) with a special tool 0 492 074 (33 1 020) out of the propeller shaft center bearing (1) and remove.
