Remove vehicle battery
WARNING:
Working on 12 V vehicle electrical system.

- Make sure that no charger is connected to the jump start support point in the engine compartment.
- Detach battery earth lead from battery.
- With auxiliary batteries: Detach all battery earth leads from additional batteries.

Zero voltage (high-voltage system switched-off) is only displayed with in PAD mode.

Preliminary works
- Deactivate the 48 v ELECTRICAL SYSTEM .
- Disconnect all battery EARTH LEADS .

- Make sure that no charger is connected to the jump start support point in the engine compartment.
- Detach battery earth lead from battery.
- With auxiliary batteries: Detach all battery earth leads from additional batteries.
- Slacken nut (1).
- Pull off the negative battery terminal (2) from the negative battery terminal.
- Put the battery earth lead to one side and secure it.
- Unclip luggage compartment aerial with holder (1) upward from luggage compartment floor (2).
- Lay luggage compartment aerial with holder (1) to the side.
- Remove the cover for the positive battery terminal (1).
- Loosen the nut below.NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
Damage to battery terminal, the safety battery terminal or the intelligent battery sensor (IBS).
Damaged battery terminals can lead to malfunctions or vehicle electrical system faults.- Pull off battery terminal from battery pole. Do not pry off using a tool.
- Disconnect the positive battery terminal from the vehicle battery.WARNING: Unprotected battery terminals.
Risk of short circuits! Risk of fire!- Cover the vehicle battery.
- Loosen the screw (2) and remove the battery holder.
- Pull off the vent hose (3).
- Remove vehicle battery (4).
