Adjusting the electric wastegate valve adjuster (after vehicle diagnosis)

• Perform the following work steps only when the setting for the electric wastegate valve adjuster is specified by the vehicle diagnosis.
• Connect diagnostic system:
  • Service functions
  • Drive
  • Engine electrical system
  • Adjustment programs
  • Adjusting wastegate linkage

• Mark the lock nut (1) and the adjustment nut (2) with a colored mark.
• Loosen lock nut (1).
• According to the diagnostic function: Shorten the adjustment travel (-) or extend the adjustment travel (+).

  One rotation of the adjustment nut = 0.75 mm adjustment travel.

• Example 1: 
  • Measured actual value (via diagnostic function) = 0.75 mm
  • Required correction: + 0.75 mm divided by 0.75 mm = + 1.0 rotations

  For the correction of the setting of the control rod: Adjust lock nut (1) toward (+) by 1.0 rotations. Then reset the adjusting nut (2).

  TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION

  M6 Always use a second open-end wrench (for counter support) to tighten the lock nut!	Tightening torque	6 ± 0.3 Nm

• Example 2: 
• Measured actual value (via diagnostic function) = - 1.5 mm
• Required correction: - 1.5 mm divided by 0.75 mm = 2.0 rotations

  For the correction of the setting of the control rod: Adjust adjustment nut (2) toward (-) by 2.0 rotations. Then reset the lock nut (1).

• After setting: Recheck the basic setting with the diagnostic function.
