Installing the thermostat on the transmission oil lines

Prepare the thermostat for installation 

• Check the gaskets (1).
• Replace damaged seals (1).

• Insert and install the thermostat (2) in the guides (3).
• Ensure that the locking mechanism (1) engages audibly.

• Feed in and install transmission oil lines (2).
• Tighten down screw (1).

• Feed in and install transmission oil lines (2).

• Version A: 

  Insert and install the holder (2).

  Tighten down screws (1).

• Version A: 

  Position the high-voltage cable (1) on the holder (3) in the direction of the arrow.

  Insert and install the holder (2).

  Position holder (2).

  Tighten down screw (1).

• Version B: 

  Fasten the high-voltage cable (2) to the holder.

  Tighten nut (1).

• Version B: 

  Position holder (2).

  Tighten down screw (1).

• Guide in and install the high-voltage connector (2).
• Tighten the screws (1) crosswise up to the high-voltage connector (2).
• Tighten screws (1) crosswise.

• Feed in and install the heat shield (2).
• Tighten down screws (1).

• Refer to DISCONNECTING ALL BATTERY GROUND LEADS .
• Refer to CHECKING/TOPPING UP THE OIL LEVEL IN THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION .
