Installing the eccentric shaft (cylinder head removed)
- Check all guide bushings (1) for damage in the marked areas, replace if necessary.
- Clean all bearing positions (1) in the cylinder head and coat with engine oil.
- Check all needle bearings (arrows) of the eccentric shaft for ease of movement.
- If the needle bearings are stiff, replace the eccentric shaft.
- Slide the needle bearing (1) up to the stop in arrow direction before installing the eccentric shaft.
- Clean all the needle bearings (1) of the eccentric shaft and coat with engine oil.
- Thread in eccentric shaft (1) and install.
- Clean bearing positions (1) of the bearing brackets and coat with motor oil.
- Clean the bearing position (2) of the bearing cap and coat with motor oil.
NOTE:
RISK OF DAMAGE
Engine damage caused by incorrectly installed bearing shells and bearing brackets.
If the bearing shells and bearing brackets are installed incorrectly, then engine damage can occur.

- Always install all bearing shells and bearing brackets in the same position from which they were removed.
- Thread in bearing brackets (1) to (6) (arrows) and install.
The bearing brackets (1) to (6) must be installed respectively on the location , from which the bearing brackets (1) to (6) have been removed.
- Feed in and install the bearing cap (A).
- Tighten the screws in the marked areas.
