Checking cylinder head for watertightness
- Loosen nuts (1).
- Remove the clamping strip (2).
- Position the cylinder head (1) on the special tool 2 361 215
so that the rubber layer is pointing towards the cylinder head (1).
All water ducts on the cylinder head (1) must be closed.
- Tighten the cylinder head (1) on the special tool 2 361 215. TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
Cylinder head to special tool 2 361 215 Tightening torque 35 Nm - Remove the ventilation connection (1).
- Install the valve of the special tool 2 361 215
on the cylinder head.TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
ventilation connection/special tool to cylinder head M10 Tightening torque 18 Nm Check
- Heat up the cylinder head.TECHNICAL DATA - CYLINDER HEAD WATERTIGHTNESS SPECIFICATION
Check for cylinder head watertightness Temperature of the cylinder head 60°C - Connect compressed air.TECHNICAL DATA - CYLINDER HEAD WATERTIGHTNESS SPECIFICATION
Check for cylinder head watertightness Testing pressure max. 3.0 bar - Check the cylinder head in for tightness in a water bath.
Result
» Air bubbles develop.
Measure
- Check the cylinder head at the point of exit of the air bubbles for damage, repair or replace if required.
- Remove the valve of the special tool 2 361 215.
- Install ventilation connection (1).TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
Ventilation connection/special tool to cylinder head M10 Tightening torque 18 Nm - Position the clamping strip (2).
- Tighten nuts (1).TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
Clamping strip to cylinder head M7 1. Jointing torque 10 Nm 2. Jointing torque 16 Nm 3. tightening torque 18 Nm
