Removing the coolant pump
Preliminary work

- Refer to DRAINING THE COOLANT FROM THE HIGH-TEMPERATURE COOLING SYSTEM .
- Refer to REMOVING THE COOLANT LINE BETWEEN THE COOLANT PUMP AND CYLINDER HEAD .

- Reduce preload as far as possible before disassembly. Relieve component.
NOTE:
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Collect and dispose of emerging fluids. Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.

- Using standard tools, increase the preload on the belt tensioner (1) in the arrow direction.
- Guide the special tool 0 496 268 (11 0 390) out and remove.
- Remove screws (arrows).
- Feed out and remove the belt pulley (1).
- Loosen screws (1).
- Feed out and remove the coolant pump (2).
- Catch and dispose of escaping coolant.
