Remove drive belt
Prerequisite
- Ignition is switched off.
Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING THE COVER ON LEFT AND RIGHT IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AT THE TOP .
- Refer to REMOVING LEFT INTAKE FILTER HOUSING WITH LEFT FRONT-END STRUT .
- Refer to REMOVING RIGHT INTAKE FILTER HOUSING WITH RIGHT FRONT-END STRUT .
- Refer to REMOVING FRONT CROSS CONNECTION .
- Refer to REMOVING THE REAR TOP CROSS CONNECTION .
- Refer to REMOVING FAN COWL .
- Refer to PARTIALLY RELEASE THE COOLANT EXPANSION TANK FOR THE LOW-TEMPERATURE COOLANT CIRCUIT .

Spring preload.

- The use of the specified special tool (tool) is mandatory.
- Carry out the described steps properly.
- Release the belt tensioner (2) clockwise with a suitable socket wrench (1).
- Maintain the preload of the belt tensioner (1) using a suitable socket wrench (3).
- Secure the belt tensioner (1) against turning with the special tool 0 496 268 (11 0 390) (2).
- Remove belt (1).
