Clean sealing surfaces

The use of metal-cutting tools (e.g., emery cloths) for cleaning surfaces can damage them and lead to leaks and/or engine damage.

The use of metal-cutting tools (e.g., emery cloths) for cleaning surfaces can damage them and lead to leaks and/or engine damage.
- Do not use any metal-cutting tools.
- Remove the coarse residue from the sealing surfaces of the cylinder head using the special tool 0 495 103 (11 4 471)
.
- Remove the fine residue from the sealing surfaces of the cylinder head using the special tool 0 495 104 (11 4 472)
.
- Clean all the blind holes (1) of the cylinder head.
- Remove the coarse residue from the sealing surfaces of the crankcase using the special tool 0 495 103 (11 4 471)
.
- Remove the fine residue from the sealing surfaces of the crankcase using the special tool 0 495 104 (11 4 472) .
- Clean all the blind holes of the crankcase.
CAUTION:
Swirling dirt particles caused by compressed air.

- Collect dirt particles, e.g. when blowing out, use cloth to do so.
- Wear safety goggles.
- Clean all the threaded holes of the crankcase in the marked
areas with compressed air.
- Remove special tool (B) from set of special tools 2 364 711 .
