Removing the left oxygen sensor monitor

Preliminary work

- Leave the electrical components in their original packaging until they are being installed. Only use the original packaging for returning the product. Always package removed components straight away.
- Read and comply with user information on using the associated special tool 12 7 060.
- Only tap the housings of electrical components. Do not tap pins or multi-pin connectors directly.
- Wear electrically conductive clothing and antistatic shoes (with ESD symbol).

- Loosen clamps (1).
- Feed out top (2) clean air pipe and remove.
- Unlock and disconnect the quick-release coupling (1).
- Unlock the bracket in area (1) with a suitable screwdriver.
- Unlock the detent of the plug connection in area (1) with a suitable screw driver.
- Push the plug connection forwards.
- Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.
- Pass the connector (2) of the oxygen sensor monitor under the engine ventilation line (1).
- Unclip the cable (1) of the oxygen sensor monitor from the holders (2).
- Unclip the cable (1) of the oxygen sensor monitor from the holders (2).
- Unclip the cable (1) of the oxygen sensor monitor from the holders (2).
- Equipment specification with heat protection wire ring:
- Release retaining clip (1).
- Pull the heat protection wire ring (2) off over the oxygen sensor monitor.
- Release and remove the oxygen sensor monitor with the special tool 0 491 074 (11 7 020).
