  1. Instrument Panel
  2. Air Duct/Defrost Intermediate Piece
  3. Adapter for the Air Duct to the Center Instrument Panel Vents

    Removing and installing:

    -- Remove the wide vent. Refer to OVERVIEW - INSTRUMENT PANEL .

    -- Remove the air duct to center instrument panel vents -Item  4-.

    -- Loosen the left and right catches and remove the air duct from the heater and A/C unit.

  4. Air Duct to Center Instrument Panel Vents

    Removing and installing:

    -- Remove the wide vent. Refer to OVERVIEW - INSTRUMENT PANEL .

    -- Loosen the left and right clip and the remove the air duct.

  5. Right Air Duct

    Removing and installing:

    -- Remove the instrument panel. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

    -- Remove the bolt on the heater and A/C unit air intake housing.

    -- Remove the air duct.

  6. Air Duct to the Right Instrument Panel Vent
    • There are different versions. Refer to the Parts Information.
    • This air duct is installed on vehicles with a "Low" A/C system (or without an A/C system)

      Removing and installing:

      -- Remove the glove compartment. Refer to GLOVE COMPARTMENT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

      -- Remove the wide vent. Refer to OVERVIEW - INSTRUMENT PANEL .

      -- Remove the air duct.

  7. Closure Cap
    • On vehicles without a Right Front Upper Body Vent Temperature Sensor -G386- the opening in the air duct is either not present or is closed with a closure cap (for example on vehicles with a "Low" or without an A/C system).

    • On vehicles without a Right Front Upper Body Vent Temperature Sensor -G386- the opening in the air duct is either not present or is closed with a closure cap (for example on vehicles with a "Low" or without an A/C system).
  9. Right Front Upper Body Vent Temperature Sensor -G386-
  10. Air Duct to Right Instrument Panel Vent and the Wide Vent
    • There are different versions. Refer to the Parts Information.
    • This air duct is installed on vehicles with a "High" A/C system
    • The illustration shows A4 and A5 on the Q5 no wide vent is available

      Removing and installing:

      -- Remove the glove compartment. Refer to GLOVE COMPARTMENT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

      -- Remove the wide vent. Refer to OVERVIEW - INSTRUMENT PANEL .

      -- Remove the expanding rivet and the bolt.

      -- Disconnect the connector on the Right Front Upper Body Vent Temperature Sensor - G386- and on the Instrument Panel Vent Motor -V562- and remove the air duct.

  11. Front Heater and A/C Unit

  13. Air Duct
  14. Left Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor -G261-
  15. Left Front Footwell Vent
  16. Closure Cap
    • On vehicles with a "Low" A/C system (or without an A/C system) the Left Front Upper Body Vent Temperature Sensor -G385- is installed in the air duct to the center instrument panel vent, the opening in the air duct is either not present or is closed with a closure cap.

  18. Air Duct to the Left Instrument Panel Vent

    Removing and installing:

    -- Remove the driver side instrument panel cover. Refer to DRIVER SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

    -- Remove the left instrument panel vent -Item  13-. Refer to OVERVIEW - INSTRUMENT PANEL .

    -- Remove the air duct to the left instrument panel vent -Item  19-.

    -- Remove the expanding rivet.

  19. Air Duct to the Left Instrument Panel Vent

    Removing and installing:

    -- Remove the driver side instrument panel cover. Refer to DRIVER SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

    -- Remove the left instrument panel vent -Item  13-. Refer to OVERVIEW - INSTRUMENT PANEL .

    -- Remove the expanding rivet.

    -- Disconnect the connector on the Left Front Upper Body Vent Temperature Sensor -G385- ("High" A/C system) and remove the air duct.

  20. Intermediate Piece in the Air Duct

    Removing and installing:

    -- Remove the driver side instrument panel cover. Refer to DRIVER SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

    -- Remove the left instrument panel vent -Item  13-. Refer to OVERVIEW - INSTRUMENT PANEL .

    -- Remove the air duct to the left instrument panel vent -Item  19-.

    -- Remove the air duct to the left instrument panel vent -Item  18-.

  21. Left Front Upper Body Vent Temperature Sensor -G385-
  22. Closure Cap
    • On vehicles with a "High" A/C system (the Left Front Upper Body Vent Temperature Sensor -G385- is installed in the air duct to the left instrument panel vent) the opening in the air duct is either not present or is closed with a closure cap.
