Air ducts in Vehicle

• With air guides to the defroster vents and various instrument panel vents

Removing and installing:

-- Remove the wide vent. Refer to OVERVIEW - INSTRUMENT PANEL .

-- Remove the air duct to center instrument panel vents -Item  4-.

-- Loosen the left and right catches and remove the air duct from the heater and A/C unit.

Removing and installing:

-- Remove the wide vent. Refer to OVERVIEW - INSTRUMENT PANEL .

-- Loosen the left and right clip and the remove the air duct.

Removing and installing:

-- Remove the instrument panel. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bolt on the heater and A/C unit air intake housing.

-- Remove the air duct.

• There are different versions. Refer to the Parts Information.
• This air duct is installed on vehicles with a "Low" A/C system (or without an A/C system)

  Removing and installing:

  -- Remove the glove compartment. Refer to GLOVE COMPARTMENT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

  -- Remove the wide vent. Refer to OVERVIEW - INSTRUMENT PANEL .

  -- Remove the air duct.

• On vehicles without a Right Front Upper Body Vent Temperature Sensor -G386- the opening in the air duct is either not present or is closed with a closure cap (for example on vehicles with a "Low" or without an A/C system).

• On vehicles without a Right Front Upper Body Vent Temperature Sensor -G386- the opening in the air duct is either not present or is closed with a closure cap (for example on vehicles with a "Low" or without an A/C system).

• Currently only a "High" A/C system is installed
• Refer to Right Front Upper Body Vent Temperature Sensor -G386-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING 
• Check the Right Front Upper Body Vent Temperature Sensor -G386- use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the"Guided Fault Finding"  function

• This air duct is installed on vehicles with a "High" A/C system
• The illustration shows A4 and A5 on the Q5 no wide vent is available

  Removing and installing:

  -- Remove the glove compartment. Refer to GLOVE COMPARTMENT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

  -- Remove the wide vent. Refer to OVERVIEW - INSTRUMENT PANEL .

  -- Remove the expanding rivet and the bolt.

  -- Disconnect the connector on the Right Front Upper Body Vent Temperature Sensor - G386- and on the Instrument Panel Vent Motor -V562- and remove the air duct.

• Refer to HEATER AND A/C UNIT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING 
• Air intake, air vents and air routing in the heater and A/C unit. Refer to AIR DUCT IN FRONT HEATER AND A/C UNIT .

• Refer to FRONT PASSENGER SIDE FOOTWELL VENT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING 
• In service cases the footwell vent can additionally be installed. Refer to the Parts Information; tightening specification 1.5 Nm

• Different versions on a "Low" A/C system (without an A/C system) or a "High" A/C system. Refer to the Parts Information.
• This air duct is installed on vehicles with a "High" A/C system
• Additional air duct toward the rear. Refer to AIR DUCTS AND VENTS IN THE REAR VEHICLE INTERIOR, "Low" A/C SYSTEM (WITHOUT A/C SYSTEM)  and AIR DUCTS, TEMPERATURE SENSOR AND VENTS IN THE REAR VEHICLE INTERIOR, "High" A/C SYSTEM, A4 AND A5 .

  Removing and installing:

  -- Remove the center console. Refer to CENTER CONSOLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

  -- Remove the air ducts to the rear footwell vent and to the vent in the rear center console.

  -- Loosen the catches and remove the air duct.

• Removing and Installing. Refer to Left Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor -G261-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
• Check the Left Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor -G261- using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the"Guided Fault Finding"  function.

• Refer to DRIVER SIDE FOOTWELL VENT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

• On vehicles with a "Low" A/C system (or without an A/C system) the Left Front Upper Body Vent Temperature Sensor -G385- is installed in the air duct to the center instrument panel vent, the opening in the air duct is either not present or is closed with a closure cap.

• Installed here on vehicles with a "High" A/C system
• Refer to Left Front Upper Body Vent Temperature Sensor -G385-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, "High" A/C SYSTEM .

Removing and installing:

-- Remove the driver side instrument panel cover. Refer to DRIVER SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the left instrument panel vent -Item  13-. Refer to OVERVIEW - INSTRUMENT PANEL .

-- Remove the air duct to the left instrument panel vent -Item  19-.

-- Remove the expanding rivet.

Removing and installing:

-- Remove the driver side instrument panel cover. Refer to DRIVER SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the left instrument panel vent -Item  13-. Refer to OVERVIEW - INSTRUMENT PANEL .

-- Remove the expanding rivet.

-- Disconnect the connector on the Left Front Upper Body Vent Temperature Sensor -G385- ("High" A/C system) and remove the air duct.

Removing and installing:

-- Remove the driver side instrument panel cover. Refer to DRIVER SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the left instrument panel vent -Item  13-. Refer to OVERVIEW - INSTRUMENT PANEL .

-- Remove the air duct to the left instrument panel vent -Item  19-.

-- Remove the air duct to the left instrument panel vent -Item  18-.

• On vehicles with a "Low" A/C system (or without an A/C system) the Left Front Upper Body Vent Temperature Sensor -G385- is installed here
• Refer to Left Front Upper Body Vent Temperature Sensor -G385-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, "Low" A/C SYSTEM (OR WITHOUT A/C SYSTEM) .

• On vehicles with a "High" A/C system (the Left Front Upper Body Vent Temperature Sensor -G385- is installed in the air duct to the left instrument panel vent) the opening in the air duct is either not present or is closed with a closure cap.
