Head Curtain Airbag With Igniter, Removing And Installing: Removing
Risk of injury due to involuntary deployment.
- Pay attention to the safety precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WHEN WORKING WITH PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS .
- Observe the disposal regulations for pyrotechnic components. Refer to AIRBAG, BELT TENSIONER AND BATTERY CUT-OUT UNITS, STORING, TRANSPORTING AND DISPOSING (PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS) .
-- Disconnect the battery ground cable with the ignition turned on. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
-- Remove the headliner. Refer to HEADLINER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the bolt -arrow- for the head curtain airbag strap from the A-pillar.
-- Unclip the clips -1- from the A-pillar.
-- Unclip the head curtain airbag clips from the body using : VAS211001 .
-- Do this by guiding the plier tips into the openings, press the clip catches -1- for the head curtain airbag together and remove the clip.
Risk of injury due to involuntary deployment.
- Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". For example, this can be done by briefly touching the door striker.
-- Release the connector lock -A- with a small screwdriver.
-- Remove the connector -1-.
-- Remove the bolt -2-.
-- Push the head curtain airbag -3- out of the mounts on the body -arrows- toward the rear and remove it.
