Engine Mount, Removing And Installing, AUDI A4/A5: Removing

-- Remove the front noise insulation. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .

-- Remove the front wheel spoiler. Refer to OVERVIEW - FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER .

-- Disconnect the connector -2- for the electrohydraulic engine mount solenoid valves.

Left Engine Mount: 

-- Remove the bolt -1- for the support bearing.

-- Disconnect the connector -arrow- for the A/C compressor.

Right Engine Mount:

-- Remove the right support bearing. Refer to SUPPORT BEARING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Loosen the hose clamp -arrow- and remove the air duct hose.

-- Seal off any open lines and connections with plugs that are thoroughly cleaned from the Engine Bung Set: VAS6122  .

-- Remove the nut -arrow- and free up the ground wire.

-- Remove the bolt -arrow- and free up the bracket -1- with the wiring harness.

Continuation for Both Sides: 

TIP:

Risk of damaging the drive axle: when lifting the engine the drive axles must not come into contact with the suspension struts.

-- Support the engine in the installation position (refer to ENGINE, SUPPORTING IN INSTALLATION POSITION, AUDI A4/A5 ) and pretension it with the Engine Support Bridge - Spindles Engine Support Bridge - Spindle: 10-222A/11  until the pressure on the engine mount is released.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and engine mount -1-.
