Engine, Securing To Engine And Transmission Holder

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Engine and Gearbox Bracket: VAS6095A

Procedure 

• Engine engaged with the Engine Sling: 2024A  on the Shop Crane: VAS6100  . Refer to ENGINE, REMOVING FROM SCISSOR LIFT TABLE .

-- Remove the drive plate. Refer to DRIVE PLATE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the intermediate plate. Refer to the figure below.

-- Remove the left alignment sleeve from the cylinder block.

-- Secure the engine as shown to the Engine and Gearbox Bracket: VAS6095A  -1-.

Assembling 

Assemble in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:

-- Insert the alignment sleeve into the cylinder block.

-- Install the intermediate plate. Refer to the figure below.

-- Install the drive plate. Refer to DRIVE PLATE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
