Transmission Fluid Level, Checking

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Torx Socket - T60: T40087

Procedure 

• Transmission fluid temperature at approximately 20 °C (68 °F) (room temperature).
• Move vehicle onto a four-pillar workshop hoist or over a work pit so that it is absolutely horizontal.
• The transmission must be still for at least 15 minutes to make sure the oil settles internally.

-- Remove the rear noise insulation. Refer to NOISE INSULATION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Equipped on some models: remove the bolts -arrows- and nut -2-.

-- Remove the end panel -1- for the crossbrace.

-- Remove the plug -arrow- for the right inspection and fill hole on the transmission housing with the Torx Socket - T60: T40087  .

• The manual transmission fluid (MTF) must be 2 mm from the lower edge of the inspection and fill hole.

-- If the oil level is not correct, fill the transmission fluid. Refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID, DRAINING AND FILLING .

Tightening Specifications 

• Plug: Refer to OVERVIEW - TRANSMISSION FLUID CIRCUIT .
• Refer to OVERVIEW - SUBFRAME .
• Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .
