-- Remove the bumper cover. Refer to BUMPER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- From product improvement: remove the mount for the tail pipe trim. Refer to FRAME FOR TAIL PIPE TRIM MOUNT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, A4 FROM PRODUCT IMPROVEMENT .

-- Free up the wiring harness.

-- Release the retainers -arrows- and remove the end plate -1-.

• The following components must also be removed if the end plate is being replaced:

• Remove the Lane Change Assistance Control Module -J769- and Lane Change Assistance Control Module 2 -J770-. Refer to OVERVIEW - LANE CHANGE ASSISTANCE .
• Remove the bracket for the lane change assistance control module.
