Repairing pyrotechnic components (for example the airbag and seat belt tensioner) incorrectly increases the risk of unintentional deployments when the battery is connected.
- Pay attention to the safety precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WHEN WORKING WITH PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS .
- Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, connecting a connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". For example, this can be done by briefly touching the door striker.
- Follow all the instructions when installing the front seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Equipped on Some Models:
-- Check the left and right position of the backrest frame and hinge.
- The backrest frame must be in the position marked on the left and right side before removal.
-- If necessary, correct the position accordingly.
Continued for all Versions:
-- Check if the profiles of the adjustment shaft and the mount in the backrest adjustment motor are congruent to each other.
-- If the position varies, connect an external 12-volt power source to the backrest adjustment motor and turn the mount until the profiles of the adjustment shaft and mount are congruent.
-- Push the adjustment shaft -3- through the mount in the backrest adjustment motor -2- and only tighten the bolt -arrow- for the backrest adjustment motor hand-tight.
-- Push the adjustment shaft through the backrest hinge and tighten the bolt/nut for the adjustment shaft.
-- Tighten the backrest adjustment motor bolt and connect the connector -1-.
Further installation is the reverse order of removal.
