Side Bolster, Removing And Installing: Removing
Risk of injury due to involuntary deployment.
- Pay attention to the safety precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WHEN WORKING WITH PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS .
- Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". For example, this can be done by briefly touching the door striker.
-- Remove the front seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Fasten the front seat on the : VAS6136 . Refer to FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .
-- Remove the backrest cover and side trim. Refer to BACKREST COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, SUPER-SPORT SEAT .
-- Remove the backrest seat cover and cushion. Refer to BACKREST COVER AND CUSHION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, SUPER SPORT SEAT .
-- Remove the clip -1-.
-- Pivot the backrest bolster adjuster air cushion -2- upward and remove from the connector -arrow-.
-- Move the backrest bolster adjuster with the pneumatic line connected to the side.
-- Remove the bolts -4 and 6- and the hook -5-.
-- Disconnect the side bolster -1 and 3- to do so release the catch -2- using a screwdriver and carefully separate the side bolsters -arrows-.

- Wear protective eyewear!
-- Drill out the rivets -2, 3 and 4-.
-- Remove the bolt -arrow-.
-- Disengage and remove the side bolster -1- from the backrest frame.
