Outer Door Seal, Removing And Installing, A4: Installing
- The vehicle and the seal must be at room temperature.
- The adhesive surfaces must be free of dirt and grease.
- Do not stretch the seal when installing it.
- So that the outer door seal does not loosen or slide, do not close the door for 30 minutes.
- If the door is replaced it must be oriented to the routing of the outer door seal on the opposite side.
-- Use the Adhesive Strip Remover :VAS6349 to remove any adhesive residue on the body.
-- Clean the painted side of the adhesive surface with Cleaning Solution :D 009 401 04 and let dry.
-- Apply Bonding Agent :D 355 205 A2 -1- on the painted side of the adhesive surface -2- using the Applicator :D 009 500 25 -3- and let it dry for ten minutes.
Courtesy of AUDI OF AMERICA, LLC- If the Bonding Agent :D 355 205 A2 dries longer than two hours, then it must be primed again.
-- Remove the protective film from the adhesive tape.
-- Position the outer door seal -2- with the vulcanized point -3- centered to the opening -arrow- for the door arrester on the door body -1- according to the label made during the removal and bond all around.
- When the outer door seal is positioned correctly, the drain holes in the seal are at the bottom.
-- Press on the seal -2- using the Roller :3356 on the door shell -1- in direction of -arrow B- ; to do so, pivot the seal to the side in direction of -arrow A-.
- Vehicle resting time is a minimum 30 minutes with the doors open at room temperature.
Continue to install in the reverse order of removal.
