Convertible Top Compartment Cover, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Open the rear lid and remove the cap -arrows-.
-- Mark the bolts -1 and 2- for the reinstallation.
-- Bring the convertible top into its service position. Refer to Position : .
-- Remove the side trim panel for the convertible top compartment. Refer to OVERVIEW - CONVERTIBLE TOP .
-- Left: disconnect the connector -2-.
-- Free up and disconnect the antenna wires -4-.
-- Remove the nut -3- and free up the ground wire -1-.
-- Free up the wiring harness -5-.
-- Right: free up and disconnect the antenna wires -2-.
-- Free up the wiring harness -1-.
-- Release the securing tab -1- in direction fo -arrow- open the bracket downward and remove the cable holder -7- from the lower ball pin.
-- Release the catch -6- and remove the cable holder with the wiring harness from the hydraulic cylinder -5-.
-- Slightly lift the locking spring -3-, remove the hydraulic cylinder -2- from the ball pin -4- and position toward the front in the convertible top compartment.
-- Push the tensioning bracket -1- of the convertible top toward the front in direction of -arrow- and hold it in this position.
-- Close the convertible top compartment cover -2- (but do not engage).
-- To avoid causing any damage while removing and installing, tape off the rear lid near the opened convertible top compartment cover.
-- Open the engine compartment lid using the vehicle key, and at the same time guide the rear lid by hand.
-- Remove bolts -1 and 3- and fold the hinge -2- toward rear in direction of -arrow-.
-- Close the rear lid.
-- Remove the convertible top compartment cover with a second technician and lay it on a soft surface.
