Roof Trim Molding, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Open the front door.
-- A5 Sportback: open the rear door.
-- Open the hood.
-- Remove the door seal for the roof trim molding. Refer to ROOF TRIM MOLDING DOOR SEAL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Have a second technician hold the roof trim molding -1- so that the paint is not damaged.
Risk of injury due to flying metal shavings.
Irritation and injury to skin and eyes possible.
- Wear protective eyewear.
- Wear safety gloves.
-- Drill out the pop rivet heads -arrows- and pierce the rivet shaft.
- Do not bend the roof trim molding.
-- Remove the roof trim molding -1- from the body.
-- A5 Coupe: remove the roof trim molding from the connecting clamp from the side window trim molding -2- in direction of -arrow A- and remove from the clamp -3- in direction of -B arrows-.
-- A5 Sportback: remove the roof trim molding from the connecting cable of the side window trim molding -2-.
-- Remove the roof trim molding.
