Side Adjustment

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Pry Lever: 80-200 
• Side Window Installation Tool: VAG1739 
• Use to adjust laterally.
• Commercially available socket wrench

Side adjustment to window regulator: 

-- Remove the speaker. Refer to COMPONENT LOCATION OVERVIEW - SOUND SYSTEM .

-- Loosen the nuts -4- several turns using the socket wrench at the same time counterhold using a socket on the adjusting bolt -3-.

-- Turn the adjusting bolts -3- with the : VAG1739  .

• Turn to the left - the side window rotates toward the inside
• Turn to the right - the side window rotates toward the outside

-- Tighten the nut after adjusting.

Tightening Specifications 

• Refer to OVERVIEW - REAR SIDE WINDOW, A5 CABRIOLET 

Side adjustment to side window:

-- Remove the decorative trim -1- carefully from the side trim panel in direction of -arrows- using the : 80-200  .

-- Remove the decorative trim slightly from the side trim panel and push toward the rear, this disengages the hook -2- from the side trim panel.

-- Push through the grommet -2 and 3- using the tool.

-- Loosen the bolts -1- and move the side window.

-- Tighten the bolts after adjusting.
