Tension And Guide Cables, Sewing Together
If a tension and guide cable was cut perform a repair by sewing. The position of the connection is to always be selected so that the overlapping tension and guide cable can move freely, in other words that it dose not contact other components of the convertible top. In principle this is the case on the ends of the tension and guide cable.
-I- : Loop Sewing
-- Make the loops -1- according to the following dimensions and sew by hand -2-.
- Dimension -a- = 10 +- 1 mm
- Dimension -c- = 6 +- 2 mm
- Dimension -d- = 5 - 3 mm
-II- : sewing tension and Guide Cable
-- Sew the tension and guide cable to the correct length. Refer to OVERVIEW - REPAIR KIT TENSION AND GUIDE CABLE .
- Pay attention to the length of the overlap when cutting.
-- Align the tension and guide cable -3- to the following dimensions overlapped and sew by hand -4-.
- Dimension -b- = 20 mm
- Dimension -e- = 5 - 3 mm
-III- : Sew the Tension and Guide Cable on the Tab
If a tension and guide cable is cut at the tab -6- perform the repair directly in the area of the tab.
-- Sew the tension and guide cable to the correct length. Refer to OVERVIEW - REPAIR KIT TENSION AND GUIDE CABLE .
-- Align the tension and guide cable -8- to the following dimensions overlapping on the tab -6- near the cut tension and guide cable -5- and sew by hand -7-.
- Dimension -f- = 20 mm
