- Observe the disposal regulations for pyrotechnic components. Refer to AIRBAG, BELT TENSIONER AND BATTERY CUT-OUT UNITS, STORING, TRANSPORTING AND DISPOSING (PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS) .
-- Disconnect the battery ground cable with the ignition turned on. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
-- Remove the outer rear belt end fitting. Refer to REAR OUTER BELT END FITTING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the luggage compartment side trim panel. Refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SIDE TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, AVANT .
-- Driver side: remove the luggage compartment relay and fuse panel. Refer to COMPONENT LOCATION OVERVIEW - RELAY PANELS, FUSE PANELS AND E-BOXES .

- Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". For example, this can be done by briefly touching the door striker.
-- Disconnect the connector -2- by releasing the connector lock with a small screwdriver.
-- Push the noise insulation to the side and loosen the bolt -1- approximately seven turns.
-- Push the three-point seat belt -3- toward the rear in direction of -arrow-, disengage it from the mount and remove it.
