SUBFRAME Front Hydraulic Bonded Rubber Bushing, Replacing: Removing

-- Remove the wheels. Refer to WHEELS AND TIRES .

-- Equipped on some models: remove the diagonal brace. Refer to DIAGONAL BRACES, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Exhaust system without separating point or equipment versions with natural gas system: remove the muffler. Refer to MUFFLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Exhaust system with separating point: remove the exhaust pipe. Refer to OVERVIEW - MUFFLER .

-- Remove the left and right spring. Refer to SPRING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the stabilizer bar. Refer to STABILIZER BAR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the front lower transverse link. Refer to FRONT LOWER TRANSVERSE LINK, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Pry out the anti-twist mechanism -2- in the area of the retaining tabs with a screwdriver from the bonded rubber bushing alternating from side to side.

-- Version with plastic insert: remove the plastic insert -1- from the bonded rubber bushing.

-- Mark the installation position of the hydraulic bonded rubber bushing on the subframe -arrows-, for example with a felt-tip marker.

-- If necessary, the support -arrow- with the small interior diameter must be removed from the Hydraulic Press :VAS6178  and the T10205/13 must be installed for it.

-- Arrange the special tools as shown.

  1. :T10205/8-1 
  2. :VAS6178 
  3. :T40328/3 
  4. :T40373/3 
  5. :T40373/2  . The conical side must face upward and the ribs must fit into the openings in the rubber bonded bushing
  6. :T40373/6  . Can be used on both sides depending on the bonded rubber bushing.
  7. :T10205/8-2 
WARNING:

There is a risk of injury from falling components.

  • Hold the :VAS6178  firmly while pressing out.
