Brake Master Cylinder, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the brake fluid reservoir. Refer to BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the left tower brace. Refer to TOWER BRACE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disconnect the connector -3- for the Brake Lamp Switch -F-.

-- To prevent brake fluid from escaping, place enough lint-free cloths in the area under the brake master cylinder.

CAUTION:

Risk of destroying the brake lines by bending.

- Never change the shape of the brake lines.

-- Remove the union bolts -2- for the brake lines and remove the brake lines from the brake master cylinder.

-- Immediately seal the open connection points with clean plugs from the Engine Bung Set :VAS6122 .

-- Remove the nuts -arrows-.

Do not let anything fall in the brake booster when removing the brake master cylinder.
The actuator pin for the brake lamp switch must not get lost.

-- Disconnect and remove the brake master cylinder from the brake booster.
