Brake Caliper, 1LA/1LB
NOTE:
Install the entire repair kit when servicing.
New brake calipers are filled with brake fluid and are pre-bled.
Apply a thin coat of Assembly Paste :G 052 150 A2 to brake cylinders, pistons and seals.
- Caps
- Remove the guide pins to remove.
- Insert the guide pins after installation.
- Guide Pin
- 30 Nm
- Replacing. Refer to BEARING BUSHING AND GUIDE PINS, REPLACING, 1LA/1LB .
- Guide Pin
- 13 Nm
- Apply a thin coat of Assembly Paste : G 052 150 A2 to the threads before screwing in.
- Protective Cap
- Install on the bleeder valve
- Brake Caliper Housing
- Spring
- Insert with both ends in brake caliper housing holesNOTE:
The spring must be pressed under brake carrier after it is inserted in both holes. If improperly installed, the wear of the outer brake pad cannot be adjusted, thereby increasing brake pedal travel.
- Insert with both ends in brake caliper housing holes
- Bearing Bushing
- Insert in brake caliper housing
- Replacing. Refer to BEARING BUSHING AND GUIDE PINS, REPLACING, 1LA/1LB .
- Brake Carrier
- Bolt to brake caliper housing
- Seal
- Removing and installing. Refer to BRAKE CALIPER PISTON, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, 1LA/1LB .
- Piston
- Apply a thin coat of Assembly Paste :G 052 150 A2 to piston beforehand
- Diameter 57 mm.
- Removing and installing. Refer to BRAKE CALIPER PISTON, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, 1LA/1LB .
- Protective Cap
- Do not damage the piston when inserting it.
- Removing and installing. Refer to BRAKE CALIPER PISTON, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, 1LA/1LB .
