Brake Caliper Piston/Protective Cap/Gasket, Removing And Installing: Installing
Install the entire repair kit.
Only use mineral spirits to clean the brakes.
When a piston wall is damaged, the brake caliper must be replaced.
-- Only clean the surfaces on the pistons and gasket with mineral spirits and then dry.
-- Apply a thin coat of Lithium Grease :G 052 150 A2 to the gasket before installing.
-- Insert the gasket into the brake caliper.
-- Place the protective cap on the brake caliper piston.
-- Press the protective cap into the brake piston groove.
Pay attention to the correct installation position of the protective cap in the brake piston groove.
-- Apply a thin coat of Lithium Grease :G 052 150 A2 to the piston before installing.
-- Without tilting, push the brake caliper piston with inserted protective cap using constant pressure.
Do not tilt the brake piston when inserting in the brake caliper.
-- Insert the :T10145 and the :T40325 in the brake caliper.
Slowly press in the protective cap using the :T10145 and the :T40325 for the protective cap -1-.
- The protective cap must fit tightly in the groove. If necessary, push down on it slightly with the :T10145 .
- The protective cap must no longer be able to be pulled out of the brake caliper by hand.
-- Repeat the work procedure on the next brake caliper piston.
