Overview - Balance Shaft

- Cylinder Block
- Bolt
- 9 Nm
- Intake Side Balance Shaft
- Lubricate the bearing with engine oil
- Replace in pairs only. Refer to BALANCE SHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, INTAKE SIDE .
- Pipe
- For the exhaust side balance shaft
- 136 mm in length
- Installation position. Refer to Fig 2.
- Bolt
- 9 Nm
- Exhaust Side Balance Shaft
- Lubricate the bearing with engine oil
- Replace in pairs only. Refer to BALANCE SHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, EXHAUST SIDE .
- Needle Bearing
- Replace after removing
- The needle bearing rim is colored, a needle bearing of the same color must be installed.
- Lubricate the bearing with engine oil
- To install, tightly press together the needle cage until it engages.
- Needle Bearing
- Replace after removing
- The needle bearing rim is colored, a needle bearing of the same color must be installed.
- Lubricate the bearing with engine oil
- To install, tightly press together the needle cage until it engages.
- Pipe
- For the intake side balance shaft
- 123 mm in length
- Installation position. Refer to Fig 2.
- Seal
- For the intake side balance shaft
- Replacing. Refer to BALANCE SHAFT GASKET, REPLACING, INTAKE SIDE .
Balance Shaft Pipe Installation Position
- The tab -arrow A- on the balance shaft must engage in the cut-out -arrow B- on the pipe.
