Pistons, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:
- Replace bolts that were tightened with an additional turn after removing them.
- Arrow on the piston crown points toward belt pulley side.
- Install the upper joint of the three-part oil scraping ring 120° offset to the neighboring compression ring
-- Install the compression ring. Refer to Figure.
-- Installing the oil scraping ring. Refer to Figure.
-- Coat the contact surface of the bearing shells and the cylinder wall with engine oil.
-- Push the piston -1- with the Funnel: T40347 carefully by hand in the cylinder -arrow-.
-- Install the connecting rod bearing cap. Pay attention to the installation position -item : Connecting Rod Bearing Cap.
-- Install the cylinder head. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the oil pan upper section. Refer to OIL PAN UPPER SECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
