High-Voltage System, De-Energizing

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

Procedure 

De-energizing the high-voltage system is done exclusively via the Diagnosis  mode using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

CAUTION:

There is a risk of fatal injury due to high voltage.

Electrocution by direct contact or electric arc can cause severe bodily injury or fatal injury.

- Have an Audi high-voltage technician (HVT) or an Audi high-voltage expert (HVE) de-energize the high-voltage system.

De-energizing the high-voltage system:

-- Connect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

-- Select the ODIS service  mode and start.

-- Select the special functions  tab.

-- Select one after the other:

-- If the contact protection on the high-voltage components is removed, it is required in the program process and a redundant voltage measurement is performed.

-- The prompt to disconnect the High-Voltage System Maintenance Connector -TW- will appear over the course of the program.

-- Remove the retainer -2- from the connector housing.

-- Press the release downward and pull the High-Voltage System Maintenance Connector -TW- -1- all the way out.

-- Secure the High-Voltage System Maintenance Connector -TW- -1- with the Service Disconnect Lock: T40262/1  .
