Turbocharger, Removing And Installing: Removing
- If there is mechanical damage to the turbocharger. Refer to FOREIGN OBJECTS IN ENGINE .
- Follow the guidelines for clean working conditions. Refer to GUIDELINES FOR CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
-- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Drain the coolant. Refer to DRAIN THE COOLANT .
-- Loosen the hose clamp -arrow-, remove the air duct hose and pivot it to the side.
-- Seal off any open lines and connections with plugs that are thoroughly cleaned from the : VAS6122 .
-- Remove the bolt -arrow- and then remove the oil return line.
-- Disconnect the connectors:
1 - For the Turbocharger Recirculation Valve -N249-
3 - For Charge Air Pressure Control Module -GX34-
-- Press the release buttons on both sides, remove the hose -4- for the crankcase ventilation from the turbocharger.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and remove the connection -2-.
-- Free up the wires for the heated oxygen sensors.
-- Loosen the screw-type clamp -arrow-, press the catalytic converter to the right side.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and remove the heat shield -1-.
-- Pry out the locking plates -arrows- and dispose.
-- Remove the bolt -1- and then remove the coolant return line.
-- Remove the bolt -2- and the oil supply line.
-- Remove the nuts -arrows-.
-- Remove the turbocharger from the threaded pins in the direction of -arrow-.
-- Have a second technician hold the turbocharger.
-- Remove the bolt -1- and the coolant supply line -2-, to do so push the heat shield to the side.
-- Remove the turbocharger upward.
