High Pressure Pump, Removing And Installing: Installing

- Replace the O-ring after removal.
- Replace bolts that were tightened with an additional turn after removing them.
- Coat the roller tappet and O-ring with clean engine oil when installing.
-- Check the roller tappet for damage. Replace if necessary.
-- Insert the roller tappet with its tab -arrow A- into the guide -arrow B-.
CAUTION:
Risk of damaging the engine by the timing mechanism skipping.
- Only let the engine turn in the direction of engine rotation.
-- Rotate the crankshaft in the direction of engine rotation at the starter generator belt pulley nut until the roller tappet in the vacuum pump has reached its lowest point.
-- Insert the high pressure pump with the O-ring into the vacuum pump and tighten the bolts in stages.
-- Install the high pressure pipe. Refer to HIGH PRESSURE PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Check the fuel system for leaks.
