Coolant Pump Toothed Belt, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Audi A4/A5/Q5:

-- Drain the coolant. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING .

-- Lift the clamps -1 and 2- and remove the coolant hoses and push them to the side.

Continuation for All Vehicles: 

-- Remove the Oil Pressure Switch, Level 3 -F447-. Refer to Oil Pressure Switch, Level 3 -F447-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Have a second technician counterhold the crankshaft as follows:

-- Vehicles with vibration damper, version 1. Refer to Fig 1: to do so, use the : T40263  , : T40314  and 24mm socket to counterhold the vibration damper.

-- Vehicle with vibration damper, version 2. Refer to Fig 1: counterhold the crankshaft at the vibration damper using the Offset Open-End Wrench - 24 mm.

The drive wheel bolt has a left thread.

-- Remove the bolt on the drive wheel -1- for the coolant pump and loosen three turns in direction of -arrow-. Use : VAG1410  and : T10360  .

-- Remove the toothed belt -2-.
