Customer states:
- TPMS warning appears in the instrument cluster although there is no pressure loss.
OR
- ABS/ESC warning message appears in the instrument cluster.
Workshop findings:
A DTC referring to an implausible signal of a rotational speed sender is stored in the ABS control unit J104 (address word 0003), multiple rotational speed senders may be stored.
TECHNICAL BACKGROUND 1
If dirt, foreign objects, or grease have settled in the area of an ABS speed sensor or on the sensor ring on the wheel bearing, the signals of the ABS speed sensor are distorted such this signal from the control unit is recognized as implausible.
PRODUCTION SOLUTION
Not applicable.
SERVICE
Please check the ABS speed sensors and the sensor rings on the wheel bearing with great care for foreign objects, grease, and dirt, and clean all dirty components. Then erase the DTCs. If there are no irregularities detected while checking, work through the DTCs using Guided Fault Finding.
