CONDITION
Customer states:
Parking brake malfunction warning in the cluster.
Workshop findings:
One or more of the following DTCs are stored in the ABS control unit address word (0003):
- C100C07 Electro-mechanical parking brake button mechanical malfunction.
- C100C29 Electro-mechanical parking brake button implausible signal.
TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
The DTCs are stored when the corresponding switch is pressed and held for a short time. This can happen by accident (for example: when pressing the parking brake switch while using the MMI). The switch can also get stuck if a foreign object has entered the gap around the switch from outside.
PRODUCTION SOLUTION

SERVICE
Find out from the customer how they use the corresponding switch. If a DTC was caused due to the switch being held down accidentally or getting stuck, replacing parts will not fix the problem .
