CONDITION
Customer states:
- Traces of moisture, contamination, and/or a warning lamp indicate that there is a leak in the brake system.
Workshop findings:
- Moisture is identified on one of the rear brake calipers.
TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
Assembly fluid was used in the supplier's production process when the components were assembled.
The moisture that is visible does not necessarily indicate that there is a leak at the rear brake caliper.
It may simply be residue from assembly fluid used during production.
PRODUCTION SOLUTION
Improvements starting from May 2022.
SERVICE
Proceed as follows:
- Clean the area and check whether there is moisture underneath the protective sleeve - the picture below shows a dry state (Figure 1).
- If there is no moisture in this area, reassess the complaint and continue evaluating the rest of the brake system.
