TECHNICAL BACKGROUND 1
The driver assist system sensors self-initialize after the ignition is turned on. As a result of this, Audi pre sense/active front assist and associated systems may not be available for up to 20 seconds after the ignition is turned on.
On certain models, depending on the sensors used in those models, the vehicle must also be moved for the warning light to extinguish. The time it takes for the initialization warning light to extinguish must be extended accordingly.
The unavailability of those systems is indicated by the initialization light on the instrument cluster.
PRODUCTION SOLUTION
Not applicable.
SERVICE
- Do not perform any repairs. Any repairs for this concern may be denied.
- Inform the customer that it takes the front camera for the driver assist system (R242) about 20 seconds to start up and the icon informs the driver of this fact. This is normal behavior.
- In some models, the vehicle must be moved before the initialization indicator goes out.
