Customer states:
This service info only applies if a visual issue relating to headlights or taillights was established and external influences can be ruled out .
The customer statement can be reproduced; the issue must be documented with three photos for the purposes of reproducibility and product monitoring.
TECHNICAL BACKGROUND 1
Rules for creating correct photo documentation:
- For all visual complaints, please attach three relevant photos of the complaint to DOC-IT.
- The photos must be taken with the headlights/taillights installed in the vehicle.
- The outside of the headlight or taillight cover must be cleaned to remove insects, dust, etc.
- The outside of the headlight or taillight cover must be dry.
- When taking the guidance photo, the camera should be approximately 100 cm from the headlight/taillight.
- The camera must be at the same height as the affected headlight/taillight to take the best possible photo for an objective assessment.
- Do not send identical photos twice!
The first photo should show the entire affected component; the area relevant to the complaint should be marked with an arrow. This is for guidance.
For visual concerns related to headlight or taillight submitted under warranty, we ask that defect flags and photos be used to identify and document the visual concern or defect. Photos should be uploaded to DOC-IT in case they are needed during the review.
Defect flags can be found in the attachment tab of this TSB. These can be printed and used as needed.
Figures 1-6 are examples of the photos needed per lamp replacement due to visual defects.
The third photo must be taken after removing the affected component. In this case, the label with the part number and production date must be photographed.
PRODUCTION SOLUTION
Not applicable.

When billing, please always attach photos that clearly show the complaint to DOC-IT. To ensure a reference to the vehicle, the image/video must:

- Must not be edited.
- Should be in focus and taken with sufficient light. A high resolution is not necessary.
If appropriate, please mark the location of the problem so that parts analysis has a clear reference to the complaint. Please ensure that the photo documentation does not show any people and/or face, license plates, or customer data.
