WORKSHOP FINDINGS
The following DTCs and symptom code(s) may be stored in the data bus diagnostic interface -J533-, (address word 0019):
- U142100: Control module for emergency call module and communication unit no communication - passive/sporadic
- U164200: Ethernet Emergency Call Module no communication - passive/sporadic
- If the two event memory entries are logged as static, please follow the instructions in Guided Fault Finding (GFF).
TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
These passive DTCs may be stored in data bus diagnostic interface control unit J533 due to the control module's start-up behavior and the variable time required by the ConBox -J949- to connect to the mobile network.
As long as those DTCs are sporadic, they do not affect the functioning of the vehicle.
PRODUCTION SOLUTION
Robustness measures will be incorporated into the new control unit versions from MY 2025 onwards.
SERVICE
These two DTCs can be ignored and do not affect the functioning of the vehicle or emergency call module control unit and communication unit J949.
DTCs that can be ignored are usually marked with a yellow triangle in the vehicle diagnostic tester.
J949 - Emergency call module control unit and communication unit
WARRANTY
This TSB is informational only and not applicable to any Audi Warranty.
There is no reason to attempt any repairs. Replacing emergency call module control unit and communication unit J949 or data bus diagnostic interface J533 will not lead to a solution either. Invoicing under warranty is not permitted. Unjustified work/replacement parts will be charged back.
