Customer states:
- The rear dome light can no longer be turned on or off.
Workshop findings:
- Upon inspection the rear dome light button is found to be stuck or not operational.
TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
Increased pressure on the button which operates the light can result in the trim of the button separating from the switch base. As a result the button may become stuck or no longer function.
PRODUCTION SOLUTION
Not applicable.
SERVICE
- If a customer concern is present and the switch is found to be inoperative, first check that the switch trim is properly seated to the switch base.
- Remove the rear dome light switch from the headliner and check whether the trim is properly clipped (Figure 1).
- If the trim has separated from the base, reassemble the switch and install back into the vehicle.
Parts replacement does not solve this issue. Claims for replaced parts will be subject to review.
