Refrigerant Lines, Disconnecting And Connecting At Condenser: Removing
- For all the following work, close the open lines and connections with clean plugs from the Engine Bung Set :VAS6122 .
Removing
-- Switch off the ignition.
-- Discharge the refrigerant circuit. Refer to Refrigerant Circuit or Working with A/C Service Station (1 Of 2) / Working with A/C Service Station (2 Of 2) .
-- Remove the left air intake grille. Refer to Front Bumper .
RS5
-- Remove the front bumper cover. Refer to BUMPER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
SQ5
-- Remove the lock carrier cover, left and right air intake grille as well as the bumper cover end plate. Refer to Front Bumper .
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and air duct -1-.
-- Release the left and right catches -arrows- and remove the retaining pin -1- for the radiator upward.
-- Disconnect the air duct -1- near the pass-through for the refrigerant lines with a diagonal cutter -arrows-.
-- Release the catches -arrow- and remove the air ducts -1 and 3-.
-- Secure the radiator on the top again with the retaining pin.

Danger or frostbite due to refrigerant coming out under pressure.
Frostbite on the skin and other parts of the body is possible.
- Wear safety gloves.
- Wear protective eyewear.
- Evacuate or drain refrigerant and open the refrigerant circuit immediately.
- If more than 10 minutes elapse after extracting or draining the refrigerant and the refrigerant circuit was not opened, extract or drain the refrigerant again. Pressure develops in the refrigerant circuit due to evaporation.
-- Remove the bolt -A-.
-- Remove the refrigerant lines -B and C- from the connections on the condenser.
-- Seal the open line connections and the connections on the condenser with clean plugs, for example, from the Engine Bung Set :VAS6122 .
