Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor -G62-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, VEHICLES WITHOUT HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Socket: T10405
Procedure
- The engine is cold.
-- Reduce the residual pressure in the cooling system, briefly open the coolant expansion tank cap -1- by releasing the retainer in direction of -arrow-.
All except Audi Q7/Q8:
-- Remove the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Audi A8/Q7/Q8 with Particulate Filter:
-- Remove the plenum chamber bulkhead. Refer to PLENUM CHAMBER BULKHEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Audi Q7/Q8 with Particulate Filter:
-- Disconnect the connector -2- for the Dual Exhaust Temperature Sensor 1 -GX41-.
-- Remove the connector from the bracket and then free up the wires.
-- Remove the union bolt -1-, free up the pressure pipe on the clip -arrow- and move to the side.
Continuation for All Vehicles:
-- Remove the nuts -arrows- and the bolt -2-.
-- Free up the wires and remove the heat shield -1- (example illustration).
All with Particulate Filter except Audi A8/Q7/Q8:
-- Disconnect the connector -3-.
-- Remove the bolt -1- and free up the Particulate Filter Differential Pressure Sensor -G1037-.
-- Free up the wiring harness.
-- Remove the bolts -2- and remove the bracket.
Continuation for All Vehicles:
-- Disconnect the connector -1-.
-- Place a cloth underneath to catch leaking coolant.
-- Remove the bolts -2- and remove the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor -G62- -3-.
- Replace the O-ring after removal.
-- To prevent coolant loss, install the new coolant temperature sensor immediately.
-- Install the vacuum pump. Refer to VACUUM PUMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the plenum chamber bulkhead. Refer to PLENUM CHAMBER BULKHEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
