Battery -A-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, 0K4 AND VH0: Removing

-- Remove the nut -1-, the cover -3- with the vehicle tool kit mount -2-.

-- Avant: if installed, remove the subwoofer. Refer to SOUND SYSTEM .

-- Equipment version without subwoofer: remove the nuts -arrows-.

-- Equipment version with subwoofer, remove the subwoofer. Refer to SUBWOOFER -R211-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the rear crashpad -2- with the retaining bracket -1-.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.

-- Remove the retaining bracket -1-.

-- Loosen the nut -6- several turns and remove the battery ground cable terminal -4- from the battery terminal.

-- Disconnect the connector -5-.

-- Check that it is de-energized on the jump-start connection point using the multimeter. Refer to Check that it is de-energized on the jump-start connection point using the multimeter: .

-- Open the cover -3- over the battery positive terminal.

-- Loosen the nut -1- several turns and remove the battery positive cable terminal clamp -2- from the battery terminal.

-- Remove the bolt -3-.

-- Remove the battery bracket -4-.

-- Disconnect the central venting system hose -1-.

-- Lift the battery -2- up and out of the luggage compartment.
